Zac Langdon-Poles BMW Art Journey Constellations  führt den Künstler durch eine Welt, die seit Jahrtausenden von Menschen und Vögeln bereist wird. Er folgt den Flugbahnen wie der des weißen Storchs oder der Küstenseeschwalbe und bewegt sich dabei entlang der Erdachse, an der die Sommerzeiten der Nord- und Südhalbkugel ineinander übergehen. Von allen Lebewesen legen Zugvögel die längsten Strecken zurück und ihre Routen dienten bereits polynesischen Spurensuchern als Wegweiser über die Meere. Inspiriert von dieser historischen Sicht, den Himmel als Hilfsmittel der Navigation zu nutzen, hinterfragt der Künstler auf seiner Reise den Menschen als Mittelpunkt der Welt. Auf seiner Route durch Zentraleuropa, Südafrika sowie zu den pazifischen Inseln Samoa und Hawaii erforscht er Verbindungen zwischen Kulturen und der wissenschaftlichen Sternenkartografie.

ZAC LANGDON-POLE (*1988, Neuseeland) studierte an der University of Auckland, Elam School of Fine Arts und bei Willem de Rooij an der Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. Der Charlotte-Prinz-Stipendiat hat u.a. in Kanada, Singapur und Deutschland ausgestellt. Er lebt in Darmstadt und Berlin.

Die BMW Art Journey ist eine gemeinsame Initiative der Art Basel und BMW. Sie bietet Künstlern die Gelegenheit, eine Reise voll kreativer Entdeckungen zu einem Ziel ihrer Wahl zu unternehmen. Wie ein mobiles Atelier kann die BMW Art Journey einen Künstler an nahezu jeden Ort der Welt bringen – um Kontakte zu knüpfen, Perspektiven zu gestalten, oder um neue Arbeiten zu konzipieren und zu erschaffen. Die BMW Art Journey steht Künstlern offen, die im Sektor »Discoveries« der Art Basel in Hong Kong ausstellen.

I really love Nedra Glover Tawwab's work. I started with "Set Boundaries, Find Peace" and that opened the gateway to a broader and more helpful healing journey for me. This book, "Drama Fee" was just an evolutionary step in her series and a more in depth dealing with family relationships. The different perspectives for each chapter on how the concept can be applied was/is helpful as it often feels like books of this nature are only telling the black or white way to focus on a relationship. I felt seen and heard that though my familial relationships are unique there are commonalities and in turn ways to approach healing, reconciliation (with oneself and with family), understanding and compassion, to a achieve drama free relationships. As humans we are bread for connection and I appreciate Nedra Glover Tawwab's help in navigating them.
