Green Opal Crystal Twist Flame Carving is a natural opal mineral specimen from Madagascar. This polished display piece stands 9.0 cm high and 7.5 cm wide, weighing 415 g. The lime-green color arises from Nontronite inclusions, giving earthy tones typical of Green Opal. Formation & Characteristics
Green Opal forms through a solution of silicon dioxide and water. As groundwater percolates through cracks and fissures in the earth, silica is deposited; millions of years of evaporation leave behind opal deposits. Geologists estimate five to six million years to form a centimeter of Opal. The specimen contains Nontronite inclusions that impart its distinctive lime-green hue. The outer surface displays natural cavities, and the piece has been polished to enhance the twist flame carving. Crystals are energetically cleansed and reactivated prior to delivery.
