Animal Collective proudly announces live album Ballet Slippers, released in honor of the 10-year anniversary of their modern classic, Merriweather Post Pavilion. Recorded in the midst of the band's extensive and acclaimed nine-month tour in '09, the album features Merriweather's greatest hits alongside favorites from Strawberry Jam, Sung Tongs, Feels, and Danse Manatee. The release is culled from several shows from that album's North American tour and sequenced to reflect a full concert experience, complete with song transitions and interludes, creating a captivating document of the genre-defying group.Reflecting on the decade since Merriweather's release, Animal Collective had this to say: "It's impossible for us to remember the years around Merriweather Post Pavilion without thinking about the live experience. As the record turns 10, there has been a lot of talk about the album itself, but so much of the time living with those songs was spent on stage together.Every night on tour, the music opened up again, leaving us new spaces to fi ll and new opportunities to rethink our past. Just as Merriweather documents the era in one of it's forms, we wanted Ballet Slippers to do the same for some of it's other forms."Animal Collective consists of musicians Avey Tare (David Portner), Panda Bear (Noah Lennox), Deakin (Josh Dibb), and Geologist (Brian Weitz) who play in various configurations on each album. I am stunned

I had no idea what to expect from these. But for as cheap as they were I was willing to just write it off of they weren't that good.
I had already picked up a new memory foam pillow to replace my previous memory foam pillow that didn't do well with dissipating heat. This new pillow was fine by itself, but when I put my pillowcase on it, the properties that made it cooling were negated. I'd get a bit of sweat on the side of my head or my neck where it was against the pillow all night. The pillow was supposed to be a cool one, but the pillowcase was not.
So I grabbed this set. Smooth, no loose threads anywhere, stitching and seams are all spot on. And it's smooth to the touch. Got it on the pillow, and as soon as I laid my head down on it, I could tell immediately that this was going to be a different result that my other one. Not nearly as warm even after laying on it for a while. No heat buildup, no bits of moisture on the skin after being on it all night.
This definitely works well, especially with my cool sleep pillow. Now I can have a far more comfortable nights sleep. For the price, it's a steal. I have no idea what longevity will be, but with two of them, I'm sure I'll get more than my money's worth.
