Here is a collection of stories mixing some of the most compelling and enduring traditional ghostly stories from Lancashire with more recent uneasy everyday experience from the county.

There are stories here from the manor houses, halls and theatres of the county towns, ranging from apparitions of the witch-hunting days and from the Tudor persecutions of recusants.

Here the reader will be told about spirits from the other world, some loitering by the place of their violent death, and others haunting a place they perhaps cannot leave, even in their passing from this world.

These are confrontations with the dead, collected from across the county. What they all have in common is a shaky, nervous recall of encounters with restless souls, sometimes in places where they have been met before.

The author has gathered and selected these Red Rose stories with a strong awareness of the unsettled and sometimes horrendous social and religious history of one of Britain’s most paranormal shires, taken from old sources and from personal anecdotes.

About the Author

Stephen Wade is a writer and researcher into social history, with a particular interest in unexplained events and stories. He is a freelance non-fiction writer, also teaching at the University of Hull on the creative writing programme.

His paranormal interests began when following up alleged ghost sightings in his own family, and he has been present at exorcisms and investigations. His special interest is in crime scene apparitions and phenomena.

He has worked as a researcher on Derek Acorah’s Ghost Towns programme, and has researched the oral history of the unexplained.

Follow the template
Format: Paperback
Not much different from the 2005 ed, which was good Version 4, it is practically verbatim. The only major change I can see is the Story Template changed all of the terminology and dropped Act III all together leaving it pretty much up to the reader to figure out how to close the presentation. I prefer the V.1 template over this one. Slicker paper and color photos, and the story boarding is more developed. Following the template is key to pulling the presentation off. A good portion of the book is still geared toward a Corporate audience with the assumption that the reader is an upper-level manager with a team of employees to do your work for you. Know what you are getting into. The creation of an effective 15 minute presentation can take hours for a solopreneur. I use the 45 minute format to create 15/20 minute training videos. I will recommend this book to anyone who creates and delivers PPT presentations, can focus and stick to the plan.

Not a Users Guide
Format: Paperback
Although many readers may find this book useful, it describes a particular approach to Powerpoint. It is not anything like a comprehensive users guide.
