One night, teen delinquent Kaneda has his biker gang hurtle through the busy city. Kaneda's friend, Tetsuo, is seriously injured during an accident and is taken to an army hospital. There the military notice Tetsuo's potential psychic power, so they transfer Tetsuo to a secret government laboratory to awakening his latent abilities. When Kaneda gets involved in an antigovernment guerrilla movement, he encounters Kei, a member of the revolutionaries, and learns that the goal of the fighters is to infiltrate a secret laboratory - the very one where Tetuso is being held. The experiments to awaken Tetsuo's powers are a terrifying success as he begins to wield psychic energy he cannot control - reminiscent of the emergence of the legendary esper boy Akira, which triggered World War III. The stage set, a fierce battle begins between Kaneda, Kei, the army and Tetsuo with the destiny of Earth at stake. The symphonic music to Akira was composed by Dr. Shoji Yamashiro, head of the beloved Japanese musical collective Geinoh Yamashirogumi, and performed by the group. Rerecorded and remastered using the most advanced audio techniques available, this release of the unforgettable score of Akira is peerless in quality and audio fidelity.

Classic Kids Book
Format: Board book
The Rainbow Fish is one of those children’s books that has been around forever for a reason. The story is sweet and the illustrations are beautiful. It is a great book to read with kids and one that seems to stick around in family libraries for years.

Great illustrations but not sure about the story
Format: Board book
My toddler is obsessed with all things fish, so when she picked out The Rainbow Fish from Amazon search. The illustrations are gorgeous, and my daughter is mesmerized by the sparkly, foil-like scales on the fish. She keeps pointing at them every time we read it, and it’s become a bedtime favorite just for the shiny colors!
One thing I found a little odd is the story: the Rainbow Fish gives away all her beautiful scales to make friends. It’s a sweet message about sharing, but as a parent I admit it made me scratch my head a bit (I wasn’t sure if my toddler really gets why the fish parts with all her sparkles). Still, it’s a friendly tale and we enjoy reading it together.

The Good Democracy is at Risk

This is as close to a page-turner as a prosecutor's brief can get. No words are wasted as the author describes how Donald Trump and his minions have used their raw power to lay waste to the "good" that is the beating heart of American democracy, putting democracy itself at risk. Only the people can fix it.

Sweet Book for Caterpillar-Loving Kids and Dads

This is such a cute little book, especially for families who already love The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The story is sweet, simple, and perfect for reading together, making it a great gift for Father’s Day, birthdays, or just a special book for dads and their children to share.
My daughter loves The Very Hungry Caterpillar, so she was immediately interested in this book. The illustrations are colorful and engaging, and the message about the bond between a child and their dad is really heartwarming.

I Love Dad” is such a precious little book, especially if you’re a fan of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It keeps that same classic Eric Carle charm—bright, colorful illustrations and a sweet, simple message that really tugs at your heart.
It’s the perfect way for little ones to express love for Dad in a fun and meaningful way. My daughter loved pointing out the animals and colors, and it’s become one of our go-to bedtime reads. 🥹
