De familie Brunel is een grote naam binnen de Franse wijnen. Veel andere wijnhuizen kijken jaloersmakend naar de vakwerk wat de familie Brunel dag in dag uit aflevert. Het begon allemaal in de nadagen van de tweede Wereldoorlog. Gaston Brunel kocht Chateau de la Gardine in het hart van Chateauneuf du Pape. Uiteindelijk werd het bedrijf een puur familiebedrijf. Met behulp van zijn zonen Maxime en Patrick, en hun kinderen Marie-Odile en Philippe werd Brunel een internationaal gevestigde naam. Inmiddels staat ook de vierde generatie te trappelen om onderdel te worden van de Brunel-dynastie. Le Petit Maxime Cotes du Rhone is een eerbetoon aan de zoon van oprichter Gaston Brunel. In het allereerste begin hielpen zij intensief mee op de wijngaarden; dit was namelijk nodig omdat alles nog handmatig moest. Hier kwam verandering in, aan het begin van de jaren 50, toen de eerste tractor werd aangeschaft. Het was de kleine zoon Maxime, oftewel Le Petit Maxime, die altijd op de tractor door de wijngaarden heen. Chateau de la Gardine staat vooral bekend om haar toonaangevende zuidelijke Rhone wijnen uit de bekende wijndorpjes. Echter komt Le Petit Maxime Cotes du Rhone van de algemene wijngaarden uit de Rhone, die zeker niet slechter zijn. Het ontbreekt enkel aan een appellatie. Het voordeel hiervan is dat de wijnmaker zijn gang kan zijn en niet gebonden is aan regels. Zo kan de familie Brunel een heerlijk glas rode wijn uit de Cotes du Rhone maken. Le Petit Maxime Cotes du Rhone is een klassieke blend van Grenache, Syrah en Mourvedre, in de volksmond ook wel GSM. De wijn is fluweelzacht, waar vooral het sappige rood fruit de overhand neemt. Maar iets van rode pepers en kruiden openbaart zich overduidelijk op de tong. Leuk is om deze wijn licht te koelen tot ongeveer veertien graden, zodat de gulle aroma’s zich beter weten te ontwikkelen.Shipping Notes

Great for dementia patients
I ordered this for my 94 year old mother with dementia to “feed” her stuffed cat. She was trying to feed her cat real food because “he’s hungry”, so this was a great solution. Her cat didn’t starve and mother was happy.

Still Going Strong Months Later

These stuffed chew bones have been amazing for my dogs. Even months later, they’re still happily chewing on them, and that says a lot since they’re aggressive chewers. The bacon and cheese filling keeps them interested, and the bones themselves are durable enough to handle their chewing without falling apart.
