In Pandemic Legacy, your disease-fighting team must keep four deadly diseases at bay for a whole year. Pandemic Legacy is a co-operative campaign game, with an overarching story-arc played through 12-24 sessions, depending on how well your group does at the game.

At the beginning, the game starts very similar to basic Pandemic, in which your team of disease-fighting specialists races against the clock to travel around the world, treating disease hotspots while researching cures for each of four plagues before they get out of hand.

Each month will bring new surprises, and your actions in each game will have repercussions on the next.

Will you let cities fall to the diseases? Will your team be enough to keep the viruses at bay for a whole year?

BLOG

The world is at the brink of disaster following an outbreak of four deadly diseases across the globe. In Pandemic Legacy is it up to you and your friends to save the world in a unique gaming experience.

The follow-up to Pandemic has arrived and Zatu Games is here to give you a quick introduction to this non-replayable co-operative board game.

About Pandemic Legacy

Pandemic Legacy is like nothing you have ever played before! You will literally make changes to the components as you play - just to prove that this really is a one-use only game.

The on-going storyline changes as you play and new obstacles and cards introduced. Whether you win or lose a round - or month in Pandemic Legacy - also has an effect on what happens next.

Rather than competing against each other, you must unite and work a team to develop cures for the four deadly diseases - whilst preventing more outbreaks from occurring.

How to Play

Each player can choose an different role within the game - with each character having a special ability.

You can choose to be the Dispatcher, Generalist, Medic, Scientist or Researcher. Each of the characters can have good and bad relations with the other characters in the game. Each character can be mentally or physically damaged over the course of a game. When this happens you must add a scar to their card.

No scars? Your character will be lost - which means you must rip their card up! Yes you read that correctly, you literally rip up this character card.

At the beginning of each game you will be given a set of objectives that you must complete in order to win. As the year unfolds new objectives will appear and some will expire.

On each turn, a player can take four actions—such as moving, treating disease, exchanging cards, building a research station, or seeking a cure—and then draw two new city cards that can help with movement or treatment.

After every turn the diseases will spread further as the infection deck spreads disease cubes around the board.

The game is won by curing diseases; it is lost if you suffer too many outbreaks, if you run out of disease cubes, or if you have failed to win by the time the deck of city cards is empty.

In the box

You get plenty of kit inside the Pandemic Legacy box - which is admittedly quite a heavy one.

Inside you will receive the sturdy playing board which contains a map of the world. The board is split up into six regions and an objectives section. There is also a disease tracking area for you to apply changes to throughout your campaign.

Also included is:

  • 5 Character Cards
  • 4 Pawns
  • 61 Player Cards - City / Epidemic / Event
  • 4 Referance Cards
  • 48 Infection Cards
  • 4 Civilian Cards
  • 4 Cure Markers
  • 6 Research Stations
  • 1 Infection Rate Marker
  • 1 Reminder Token
  • 96 Disease Cubes

The box also includes a Legacy Deck - comprising of 62 cards. These cards describe what happens during the game's 12 months.

They are in a specific order and should not be shuffled or looked through. When you start the game you can draw the cards one at a time until you come up to the one which says stop!

You will be told when you can begin drawing from the deck - which could be mid-game, at the end of a game or at the start of the following month.

Finally you will also have five dossiers and 1 sticker sheet. The five dossiers contain the stickers which you can place onto the board. As you play through the legacy pack you will find cards which have dossier numbers or letters on them.

When this happens you should open the door which match the numbers on the cards. They will have one-time stickers or cards which can be used in future games.

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.
